Artist: Steezy Purp

Mixtape: TRAPPING & RAPPING 2

Genre: HipHop/Rap

Release: 1 July 2018

African Royalty Records bring us Steezy Purps second installment of TRAPPING & RAPPING. Straight off the bat what you notice about his latest work is Steezy doesn't hold back on the collaborations. Every song has a feature, I know right. You might think it's a little bit DJ Khaled of him but it actually works out quite well. The mixing & mastering on the tape definitly could have been better,oh well. With trap music taking over, a project like this might be mistaken for the endless mainstream rambling listeners today are subjected to. When it is quite the opposite. Ndine Kruger's appearance on lead single 'Water' produced by Kahil set a tone the tape lives up to. Other notable features were Voodoo Child, Dopsta Untamed & Amo NRDWD. Highlight of the tape was definitely discovering young producer Chimula whose beats unleashed arguably the best verse on the tape by reggae/dancehall artist Ras Kinky. Oddie Mac and Twimzy also produced on the tape. We could have done without 'Blessing in Disguise' though, it really didn't sit well with the rest of the tape. It's definitely a good listen passed nursery rhymes to give zambian hip hop something to be proud of in 2018. A good entry by the so called New Wave.
