Today We Had The Grand opportunity Of Having A One On One Quick talk With Schasa Sinyangwe As He Talked Talked About His First Ever Book YOUNIVERSE Which Was Published recently.Among Other Things We Discussed We Asked Him How he Managng being In High School And At The Same Time A Poet And Music Artist.His Book YOUNIVERSE Is A Reflection on the Mind And personality Not Only On Schasa Sinyangwe But All the Other Creative Minds And People Who Came Into Play To make This Book A Living Visual Reality..
In an interview between the Author and Journalist Thamsanqa Mpofu at the
Midlands State University of Zimbabwe. This rather fun interview gave interesting
insight as to what kind of a person the Author is and possibly what to expect from
him in the near future. The details are as follows:
TM: So tell me about yourself basically who you are?
SS: My name is Schasa Sinyangwe I’m 17 years old. Pisces, I was born in Zimbabwe,
raised in Zambia. I live in Lusaka. I’m an artist! I can sing, rap, draw a little and I
can write poems. I’m someone who’s open to the guidance of synchronicity but I
don’t let it hinder my path.
TM: Wow! Great so how do you manage to do all these things since you are still a
student? Doesn’t it affect your studies at times?
SS: Well…… it does sometimes but it just kinda mixes together, because what I do
is literature and that’s a subject I’m very good at. I suck at math though.
TM: Well you can’t be good in every subject I suppose.
SS: Yeah I guess.
TM: So where do you get your inspiration from?
SS: Anime and I’ve always just had this strong feeling that I should fight and
become someone ya know? And I feel that this is that ‘bomb’ that will win the war.
TM: Talking about fighting what challenges do you face as an artist?
SS: piracy and ignorance.
TM: What about the eBook revolution does it affect you positively?
SS: It brings more good than bad it does limit our market to a certain extent but its
modern and so is our book it’s hip and happening.
TM: Okay what is YOUNIVERSE all about?
SS: It’s an anthology of poems by myself and a few friends of mine. Most people are
able to relate with our stories, I won’t say much about it just check it out its super
lit.
TM: So what genre do you put your writings in?
SS: All of them
TM: Which one were you aiming for when you first started writing?
SS: I wanted to write fantasy like The Hobbit and Harry Potter but hey that’s a
story for another day!
